Key Factors of an SEO Campaign That Result in More Traffic

When it comes to SEO, there are a lot of factors to consider. Unfortunately, many businesses don’t have the time or money to invest in a comprehensive SEO campaign. Dow Soars to New Record, NASDAQ Dives

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose for a second day to start 2022 as investors bet on the kinds of stocks that would benefit from a robust economy this year despite the omicron threat.

The blue-chip index collected 214.59 points to 36,799.65, an all-time record.

The much-broader S&P 500 index lost 3.02 points to 4,793.54.

The NASDAQ swooned 210.08 points, or 1.3%, at 15,622.72.

But a continuing spike in bond yields to start the New Year caused investors to rotate out of tech stocks, sending the NASDAQ lower. Losses in tech shares that were big winners last year like Nvidia and Tesla weighed on the broader market.

On the winning side in the session were stocks like banks, which stand to benefit from the rise in rates. JPMorgan Chase, American Express and Goldman Sachs were among the biggest gainers in the Dow.

New UK Information Commissioner begins term

John Edwards begins his new role as UK Information Commissioner today on a five year term, having spent the past eight years as New Zealand Privacy Commissioner, and before that worked as a barrister.

He succeeds Elizabeth Denham CBE, whose term as UK Information Commissioner ended last year.

Edwards said: “Privacy is a right not a privilege. In a world where our personal data can drive everything from the healthcare we receive to the job opportunities we see, we all deserve to have our data treated with respect.

“My role is to work with those to whom we entrust our data so they are able to respect our privacy with ease whilst still reaping the benefits of data-driven innovation. I also want to empower people to understand and influence how they want their data to be used, and to make it easy for people to access remedies if things go … Read more

USD/CAD – Canadian Dollar Biased Higher

– Early close for US equity and bond markets

– Gold prices leap 1.7% since yesterday’s low

– US dollar choppy in holiday-thinned markets

USDCAD Snapshot: Open 1.2723-27, Overnight Range 1.2718-1.2749, close 1.2739, WTI open $76.27, Gold open $1819.64

The Canadian dollar is bouncing erratically in a 1.2718-1.2749 band due to poor liquidity and year-end flows.

The S&P 500 rose over 4.5% in December, which usually means portfolio managers need to buy Canadian dollars to rebalance their portfolios. That has helped drive USDCAD from 1.2846 on Monday to 1.2718 today.

Further rebalancing may continue in early January.

The Canadian dollar is also supported by the nearly 16% rise in WTI oil since December 20. Oil prices are underpinned by falling US crude inventories in the past two weeks, supply disruptions in some producer markets, and hopes that Omicron will not impair global growth in 2022.
